The Mrs inexplicably bought 2 (with actual money) and the worlds biggest cage. Sadly down to 1, handsome chap, and he’s a greedy fecker.

Summary: substantially smarter and more interesting than hamsters/gerbils. Draws blood when taking food off you. Makes your spare bedroom stink like a station toilet unless cleaned every 12minutes.

Not celebrating this year.

Getting a good shot with my air rifle. Head shots mainly. Quicker and environmentally better than poison, but I hate doing it. I'd rather a poison that makes them infertile so they can live their fascinating ratty lives without becoming a plague (I used to keep pet ones). They've been trialling such a thing in the US to success, but I doubt we'll get it here because it would likely put pest exterminators out of business and that means less tax for the government.

There's big male rat dead at the end of the garden at the mo. Not one I'm responsible for. I'm leaving it there to watch how quick it decays. Reminds me of Suarez.
