The books have their detractors but they were very successful at the time.

So many kids would queue for hours on the day of release to buy them that it made the national news.

I guess the target audience are the ones to ask ...

They might've grown up a bit since?

Watched most of the movies with my wee lad recently, they are awful. He'd ask me which is my favourite so far and I couldn't even name them. Will eventually have to give in and watch the final 2!!

No opinion either way, they're kids books really, clearly very popular ones.

My mates daughter is bang into them, collects the memorabilia and that. Which was cute when she was about 13, but she's in her mid 20's now and still collects all the Harry Potter stuff.
She has a lot of cats as well, which I am sure has something to do with it...

Remember being repulsed by the number of adults reading the books on the tube back in the day.

Tried showing my kids the movie, they weren't even slightly interested.

Oldest one was about 10 and kept saying how the girl wouldn't be friends with the two losers and how kids in her class wouldn't know which of the boys to bully first.

For context, they quite like the Corden voiced Peter Rabbit movie, which I think should be classified as a war crime.

'Watership down' em. That'll show em. Failing that, the big guns... 'Bambi'.
