Not a rant. But are you now as disillusioned as I am with it .
5 trips over from Ireland this year at a cost of 200/300 a time and it's not enjoyable anymore. The 10 minutes before kick off are the highlight of the game.
They will always be my club, and I know I cannot switch off from them but those at the top have ruined it for me anyway. There is no connection now between the club and the fans .
Booking a trip over and looking forward to it used be something that was good for my head . Now it has the opposite effect. And for those who go home and away it must be even worse .
I get this completely. Match days used to be fun and something to look forward to during the working week. Now it’s more stress than anything.

Haven't been the game for years, just an armchair/TV Blue, but watching that 4th goal last night gave me the feeling that I'm done with them for a little while. I don't plan to watch any more of our games until the Board and owner are gone. I don't see why I should be arsed when no one at the club seems to be.

Having said that I'll probably have softened my stance by Monday and end up watching the Leicester game.

But I don't care, you seem to have noticed me around the forum so you should also notice I don't get irate or piss my pants after we concede or when we lose. We've been naff for years, I'm completely fine with that now, I can't affect it so why should I really care all that much. It's just football.

Doesn't mean I can't spend my time on the forum discussing my club does it. Completely separate things.

I think a generational difference is showing here

Honestly, I don't actually care much these days. I was never really a football fan, so I have little interest day to day.
Its sad to see the team doing poorly, but in all fairness it doesn't affect my life in any way.
These days I just look for the score, and maybe seek out the highlights on YouTube. But other than that, I would say my overall feelings towards the team or football in general is a bit meh.

I really do feel sorry fans who go through thick and thin. Or follow obsessively from afar and go when they can. The club and Everton games become imbued into family and friendship rituals and pull folk together.

It is ultimately only a game, but it does mean much more to folk than that too.

20 years ago I'd be fuming but I'm pretty much resigned. But I'm far less invested than many - be that from being a regular match goer or living close to Goodison.

Hideous watching the slow unravelling over several seasons.
Spot on. You've pretty much nailed how I feel about it.

Me the same BD, since my Dad and I had season tickets in the late 80’s and early 90’s, I’ve rarely been. My last game was against Leicester in their title winning year, in the top balcony looking straight down on Bobby & Ranieri on the touch line like drowned rats, it was hosing it down.

I just want us to play attractive football again, and since that season, we haven’t. It’s soul destroying watching the clowns now wearing our famous shirt.

Not bought a ticket for a game in about 5 years.

Stopped buying the kids shirts as well because the circus of a club deserves £0 of my money.
