That's a technicality. Him and Teodorczyk scored the most goals in the league. In a lot of leagues, like in the EPL, Onyekuru would have been the topscorer, because he assisted more than Teodorczyk (9 to 4).

Whereas Teodorczyk is an out and out striker, while Onyekuru is a winger. Onyekuru is 19, Teodorczyk 26.

Also he played in play-off 2 for a large part of the season; he scored ten in that competition. If Lukaku would have only played games against low ranking clubs like Sunderland; and some high ranking Championship teams like (insert one) the Golden boot ranking would probably also have looked much different. Most teams that play in play off 2 use the competition to play youngsters and similar players. If you only watch his amount of goals in the regular competition he was 7th. Behind central midfielders like Tielemans.

I am not saying he isn't good; but he isn't the top scorer and if it was up to me play-off 2 players would be excluded from the top scorer ranking because it's too easy to score there. Look at it; after the regular competition almost no players from play-off 2 in the top scorer ranking; on comes play-off 2. Suddenly loads of play-off 2 players in the ranking.
