I've said it before and I'll say it again.

World class that lad.

1-0 Holland. Poor keeping though

Yep. Totally agree. Even at madrid I thought he was grossly underrated. Is it b/c of his attitude or something? B/c it can't be his play.

I'm still not convinced by the midfield partnership but the Dutch look comfortable enough, they are disciplined and tactically aware. And they retain the ball which gives them alot of control. They'll be fine, I can see them improving as the competition progresses.

Maybe we could play VDV in place of de Jong and it could become an option when both Robben and Elia (carrying a light injury today) are fully fit. Although I doubt that very much, as I think our coach considers that too risky.

I'm not sure you know, I like Van Bommel but at 33 I'm not sure he's got the legs to cover for Van der Vaart and Sneijder, De Jong's mobility would be more suited to that. I don't think the two defensive midfielders will be a major problem when you face better teams because you usually get more space to play and there's less creative responsibility on the likes of De Jong and Van Bommel. But it's difficult when you come up against sides who stick men behind the ball, someone with a bit more craft and vision would be more suited. I think Sneijder would be more suited, he's more of a midfield man than Van der Vaart, more comfortable dropping off and facing the play.

I'm guessing Van Marwijk is just looking for continuity and balance, he's obviously got a way of playing and he wants to build an understanding between the players. You'll be fine, I can see you improving (in terms of performance) when you come up against more adventurous sides.

This ITV.COM coverage is crap. the feed is jumping about all over the place.

I don't want to see all this 'Live chat', 'replays' 'twitter' etc etc..

Just show me the bloody game and the score. I don't even want the sound.

pffft!!
