While reading that article, my eye was caught by a headline for an article Martin Keown wrote about Ross Barkley and how Liverpool might sign him as a replacement for Slippy.

Keown writes that Everton are not able to keep pace with his growing talent or some other such crap.

I thought more of Martin.

But it looks like he is just another rent a gob who hasn't really been paying attention to Ross's "growing talent" this season.

Maybe he has been paying attention. With Ross's recent propensity for falling on his arse and getting dispossessed, he might well indeed be the most qualified replacement for Gerrard
