Horror tackle by Alex Witsel

He's going for the ball to be fair to him.

Not nice for the other bloke though, good luck to him with his recovery.

Just to make sure I'm watching the same clip - Witsel is in red, stomping like on the other fella's leg. Pure crap tackle - no way he's playing the ball, he knew he'd already been beat.

Have never seen an ankle flop completely freely like that - certainly not for the weak stomachs.

MODS!

Anyway, Im not convinced he meant it, and seriously, could you know that someones leg is going to do that?

At speed I reckon its an accident.

It just crumples, unlike a break, just folds. Witsels not dirty, an Im not saying any player cant have a brain snap, but you cant even say thats studs up really.

Bad for all concerned.

if we sign him can we have it written into his contract that he'll do it in every derby.

order of pref.

steeeeeeeeeeeeeevie laaaaaaaaaar, between the shoulder blades when he does his 'platoon'.

sammy lee/ Rafael as they dare to touch the whitewash of the technical area.

ladyboy, so they lose all the wonga they paid for her

Perhaps I'm just naive but I can't believe that anyone would want that outcome from a tackle. Whether it was a deliberate tackle or not, the outcome must be more than the other player expected surely?

I wish I hadnt looked at it last night, everytime I shut my eyes I could see that foot dangling.

There was me moaning about a broken ankle.

He did not want to break his leg but that was the outcome of a terrible challenge. No excuse, deliberate foot up showing studs not aiming for ball at all but for the man. It is this kind of play whereby the offending player should be kicked out of football forever or at least a 2 year ban.

Don't think it was deliberate (the result) but the attempt at blocking the ball by stomping on a leg was intended. Witsel's always going to carry this tackle around with him - he'll never shake it expecially when anyone can go online and find it.
