Horse Racing

ā€¦.despite backing a 10-1 winner on todays card, itā€™s been an unprofitable Aintree for me but Iā€™m chuffed the meeting went so well with such a fairytale ending to the great race.

Willie Mullins so emotional despite winning everything the sport has to offer because his son rode the winner. I like Patrick Mullins, heā€™s a very intelligent man, award winning writer. Heā€™s not the stable top jockey or even the 2nd or 3rd, heā€™s an amateur so it puts me off backing horses he rides but itā€™s a terrific story. I half hoped heā€™d retire from the saddle after that win but then goes and wins the last race for his Dad.

The Mullins dynasty in safe hands.

1st, 3rd and 5th in the national. Gerrin there!

Big Willie Mullins is a feckin genius.

Made up the two horses got up after those bad falls.

Aintree looked glorious on the telly, first year Iā€™ve missed for donkeys years and the weathers like that ffs!

Be snowing or peeing it down again next year! šŸ¤£

Just terrible luck for me this festival.

Had broadway boy as a stayer and good each way shout yesterday. Think he had probably ran his race by the point he fell though.

Mister megitt was a horrible one.

Had finicula finicula yesterday at 80/1, but non runners meant by the time I put the bet on he was down to 22s.

Ah well.

Grand National used to be required viewing for the nation back in the day.
Yesterday, we selected two runners in the morning at a deserted Wm Hills shop and went for a walk in the afternoon. At 4.30 we realised we were missing the race and ran back to find it being rerun in slow motion on the TV!

Tend to find the same old faces in the bookies nowadays, a lot more bets made on internet gambling sites.

ā€¦.most put their bets on-line these days, certainly changed lots in the last 5 years or so.
