HOT TRANSFER NEWS

Well the info from the start of this thread seems to have been a load of bullshit. The current status:

Boro say no-way, Yakubu puts a transfer request in.
Benfica say no-way, but hint at a higher bid might loosen their grasp on his contract.

Hardly done deals as was suggested.

it does my head in when people come on forums and say [Poor language removed] like "don't tell me to [Poor language removed] off but here is a story that is complete bullshit".

kipper is by far the worst and thankfully this place is thin on the ground for [Poor language removed] post like that. he will be on with 'defoe to sign' next.:dodgy:

I fully agree with you teppic, I dont see what makes a person want to say, "I have it on good authority that x is a deal done". It does my head in, cos all it does is get fans excited, raise expectations and cause them to crash when 90% of the time they never work out.

Even if it is from a good source, its just speculation until its confirmed. Its only bad for the club to put crap like this on forums.

Well.. there might be something into this.. and this might be the reason it hasn't been made official yet.

Bumps on the way

Well it still makes the original info bull, cos it stated that it was a done deal on yakubu and fernandez. This article just states that we're going in with a 2nd offer.

I hope its true, but at £11M we're paying probably more than he's currently worth.

Also this link suggest a move for Fernandes is on the table.

£8M

Yeah thats what I implied in my original comment by saying that Benfica are trying to get us to bid again.

But it was obvious they were gonna do that. The new season starts soon, they know Everton are desperate for new players so obviously their gonna demand top value for their player.

True.. and according to the first post, we should have heard from Gazdalf "confirming" this so to speak.

But if we look beyond that the article seem to reveal where the funds are coming from. Nice to have a rich fan on the board willing to invest money into the club. :)

Yeah it does kinda imply that the money has come from Earle, but I doubt its a generous donation, more like a loan with a very nice apr for him, but thats pure speculation on my part and the article really.

Whereever its come from, im just glad we seem to have a bit of cash to fill 2 important positions in the team that need improving.

More and more sites are stating that Boro will refuse to sell Yakubu and some have also stated that we're starting to look elsewhere. :(

"Awash with new money from Kenwright's allies and backers"

that sentence and everton together does just not look right!! but it would be great it we had an outside cash injection.

who knows, in return for his invertment perhaps earle just wants first dibs on the pies at half time?

erm, today has just started, theres plenty of time for more manouvres today.

True, but if you look at the first post it states that the papers for Fernandes would be done by now and Yakubu later today. Well.. the night has passed and only news of Fernandes is that his club refuses to sell him. So, so far of what I've seen happening.. the source is wrong.
