Thanks for all your suggestions. We’ve booked the Novotel at Paddington Village for 2 nights. Any suggestions for bars/restaurants within walking distance would be greatly appreciated.

There`s not much around there mate, but a five minute walk away :

Cheap and cheerful pub grub, with some decent beers - the Font in Arrad St, L7.

A little further on and your into the nicest part of town for a night out ( imo ) the Georgian Quarter, around by the Anglican Cathedral.

Loads of places to eat and drink, with some really high end places, but my pick would be the Blackburne Arms.

It`s supposed to be a gastro pub, but it`s not.

It`s still a cracking boozer, with a great atmosphere, friendly staff, loads of great ales and wonderful food, with a real mix of clientele, young and old.

They usually have live music at the weekends too.

Other cracking pubs nearby :

The Caledonia ( vegan food and ale ) Peter Kavanaghs, The Belverdere, the Philharmonic ( a must for it`s interior ) the Roscoe Head, the Pilgrim, Ye Cracke, the Fly in the Loaf and if you want a latish one, with some music, the Casa.

Google " the Georgian Quarter " and have a look mate ;)
