@tommye what ever happened to the good old 2p washer to stop a tap leaking ? The old tap rubber washer you could reverse it over to stop any dripping lasted years ...

Why devise a Tap Spindle with ceramic parts that last not that long ? 6 months my mate fitted new taps for me ....dripping like mad ...

Avoid eBay for taps as they come with the most fragile Spindles ever & are not even standard sizes 100s of different types 5 modern tap suppliers today we visited - a sharp intake of breath from young lads - you will never get that size anywhere ,,,

I went to the oldest supplier I knew - 5 minutes he went into a massive store room, came out & matched them with better tap handles too ......

Buy what you see & judge the weight of the taps being a former Nurseryman I know they still provide the old fashioned Brass outdoor taps with a rubber washer

Sorted now thanks took 4 hours just to get the right set as they make 100s of different ones for taps

Flexible hoses -I won't have them either look great in metal a thin rubber hose inside about as reliable as a johnny lol they really do take the art out of plumbing IMO- an old plumber mate told me people go on holiday & come back to a bad burst with those flexible pipes - copper piping is the best

It's a good trade, told today heating engineers are the all the go now they won’t want to be bothered with taps etc - no money in it ? Basic plumbing is now a DIY craze .... using crap taps & fittings .....

Plus they don't last that long 4 sets in my house alone replaced - the made in China tone seems to be the theme ......recycled metal .....cheap china washers FGS why not have a fancy tap with a rubber washer any more ?????
