i honestly would not function without the internet.

ive done the opposite btw - gone from sky + bt landline to virgin.

saved over £50 a month on tv phone and broadband bills and have a bigger internet connection to boot .(its going up to 50 mb in 2009(y)- the clincher for me as we have 3 pc's and/or 3 consoles running most times)

few teething troubles with virgin tbh, (hate the fact i virtually had to speak 5 languages to fix a poor tv reception , had to phone around 10 times in 1 week , each time being sent to 4 or 5 different departments just to end up being sent back to the first , got told they would ring back twice (and didnt) , got told by an engineer he had fixed the prob ,(he hadnt) , and didnt get one apology !!!........ just to add i heard that song 'got me begging you for mercy ' around 100 times in a week and i now twitch when ever i hear it :D)

once i actually spoke to an english person , my poor reception was fixed and my last bill was reduced from £114 to just £24 and i got an apology for the hassle.

since then ive been happy as larry with virgin.

i was only on 2 meg at virgin, and had nothing but hassle.

But i wanted sky+hd for christmas, so an extra £10 a month for the 12meg connection i have now has well saved me money.

I hated virgin with a passion and will try and not buy anything that has anything to do with the brand.
When it was telewest, it was fine!

But their hi-def tv options are pathetic, so I wouldnt have stayed regardless.
What started it off was that i moved house and they wanted to treat me like a brand new customer despite the fact i'd been with telewest/virgin for about five years.
Then other things happened, and basically they are a common-sense and logic free zone.

Saying that, sky have messed up a bit already, and i know their reputation is no better, but at this moment in time everything is smooth, and I'm saving money.

I couldnt make any real use of 50meg tbh at the moment, just a pc,ps3 and ds to worry about.

So for £75 installation I couldnt say no to Sky+hd, and I believe as of very recently they also have no fair usage capping which was damn annoying!
