How many decent first team players do we have and how many more can we bring in for next season?

Player Valuation: £40m
Out of our current players I would say Pickford, O'Brien Branthwaite, Tarkowski, Gueye and N'Diaye are decent first team players. That leaves 5 spaces to fill with new first team signings. I have a feeling Moyes will find us a good left back, and maybe 1 wide player. Do people agree with my choices and how many decent first teamers will we start next season with, I'm saying 7 which is probably an improvement on some recent seasons!

RB,LB,RW,LW,CF of better quality to what we have (especially LW & RW) will see us well established as a top half team. We have to trust in Moyes

Ya I'd agree with those 5 being our best. Hopefully sign Alcaraz permanently. Thing is with O'Brien will Moyes stick with him at RB or look to get a natural RB in during the summer

I would say your six plus Alcaraz, Iroegbunam, and McNeil (provided he is played in the no 10. Role) and possibly Chermitti depending on what toll that injury has had on him.

Add Alcaraz, a new right winger, a new holding midfielder and a striker for next year. The holding midfielder might be an older free, like the Brentford fella. . The team would massively improve. £60 million tops. Now you have 10 decent first team players

Add a young LB, RB, RW and Gueye replacement for a season later. Less than 23yo all of them.

Mykolenko, Tim, Garner, Armstrong, McNeil and Chermiti are going to pad the squad out next year.

Flog Patterson for whatever we can get for him.

Pickford, the three centre-backs who have a contract for next season, Gueye (who will probably sign for another year), N'diaye, McNeil, Alcaraz (I'll be shocked if we don't buy him). Mykolenko, Gardner and Iroegbunam are good squad players. I wouldn't be surprised if Beto is sold and Chermiti is an unknown at this point.

Agree regarding the decent players, I would add DCL and McNeil to that list and despite JOB doing a cracking job would prefer a "proper" RB.

So that leaves us with :

Pickers
RB - Branners - Tarks - LB
CM - CM
Indy
RW - DCL - LW
Subs : Garner, Timmy, Myko, Charly, Gana, McNeil, JOB
Which means we need 6 first team players and 3 or 4 Subs/back ups.

You need a starting 11 and and another 5 to change the game.

Its a 15 man outfield, 90 min game these days.

You have to consider and have the option of changing half your outfield players in the game.

Need 2 quality players in every position because at Everton the first 11 becomes the second 11 very quickly through injuries.

We need better replacements than Keane Doucoure Harrison Beto Young Coleman

Certainly have no one able to change a game from the bench at the minute

Excellent:
- Pickford
- Branthwaite
- Gana Gueye
- Ndiaye

Decent:
- Tarkowski
- O'Brien
- Garner
- Alcaraz
- McNeil
- Beto
- Mangala (prior to injury, still officially our player for the season)

Fair Quality:
- Mykolenko (decent defender, mediocre attacking full-back)
- Coleman (sadly injury prone nowadays)
- Young (still doing alright)
- Doucouré (scores some important goals, but tends to go missing in games too often)
- Calvert-Lewin
- Chermiti
- Patterson (when he plays!)
- Both back-up goalkeepers (Virginia and Begovic)
- Lindstrøm (unfortunate not to have scored yet)

Lower Quality:
- Harrison
- Keane
- Broja

Positions to consider for the summer: GK (may need new back-ups due to contract situation), RB, LB (back-up/competition), CM, RW, CF.
Suggested number of signings: 6 (at least, maybe 8 at a stretch). Hopefully a few more 'excellent' players can be added!
