Probably throw in a bit of amusement too regarding just how much worse we could get.

I've gone gutted because I would be seriously disappointed to see us pressing the reset button again and going through the cycle of giving every squad member a fair shake under a new manager.

I am enjoying watching us play with pace, I think the players have bought into Benitez's system and they seem much fitter and more motivated than under Ancelotti.

We need a manager who shapes the squad over a few seasons and although Benitez would never have made my shortlist I would prefer to see Everton functioning with a balanced, competitive squad than lurching from appointment to appointment.

Far too sensible a response.

Set aside any dislike folk have for Benitez, going back to finding a manager is not something I look forward too especially given the mixed track record we've had in recent years.

Tbh this thread will just fuel the barcodes thinking they could get him. They won't, even if they come in big for him. But he won't burn his bridges and say I won't go to that tinpot club because he might in future once he has reached a natural end here.
