He went to my old school (well before my time) and played in the same team as Bryan Ferry. You probably know that already, I didn’t have a clue. You’re right that Kendall hardly ever gets mentioned as a great manager.

Let's not forget Colin Harvey who stepped up from reserve coach to be HK no 2 thats when we motored on to success as a coach Colin was brilliant, but when manager on HK departure a great coach, but never a man Manager like HK was with the players - but the glory years HK was inspirational putting Colin as his no 2 we never looked back & would have won more European trophies if it was not for the other lot's hooliganism it cost us our team dear - as it split up almost immediately with HK the first out the door after that disgraceful European ban - robbed of glory - income etc only one team should have been banned - not every team .....
It left us thinking of what may have been - The Bayern Munich Manger stated at the time we were the best team in Europe in his opinion doh.....

Got his autograph twice in one night at Marine!
I was only about 10 and HK was doing a Q & A thing which my Dad took me to, only to find kids weren’t allowed in, so I gave my Dad my autograph book which he got HK to sign! Once the Q & A finished they let us kids in! Got my autograph book back off my Dad and went and stood at the table where HK was sat! My turn, HK looked at me and said “Haven’t I signed this book already tonight?”. “No” said I, and he smiled and signed my book - again!

It was a great shame, but the team didn't split up almost immediately, I don't know why some people run with that, it didn't happen.
The main blow was we were expelled from European competitions ..... that team could have won The European cup ..... thats the shame....

It seems Mr 'All About the Trophies" is doing a Joey (i.e. pretending i'm talking about something else). I was commenting on the 'the team broke up' comment, that's all. Howard himself always wanted to manage abroad and possibly would have gone earlier- had Barcelona kept up their interest.
