Who said we were going for Adams and Daka though? Maybe the club were never after those kind of players and were happy for everyone to put them on our wish list whilst we went about going for our real targets…

Let’s face it, the only things we know to be true are we bid for Bilal Toure and he chose Atalanta and we’re negotiating Chermiti… neither of those targets, the only guaranteed true targets scream Adams and Daka either

If it gets reported in one newspaper then I often don’t pay attention (unless it’s someone reputable like Joyce), but Adams has been linked heavily and one of the people saying Ekitike is on, Alan Myers, also reported we were looking at Daka maybe 3-4 days ago?

The talk is we’re looking at a PL Proven strikers to aid the season. I’d be ecstatic with Ekitike but the players we’ve been linked with, don’t align in my opinion.

But what does linked heavily mean nowadays? Someone, like Myers, who gets plenty wrong says a thing, then a bunch of no talent hack writers copy it and say ‘sources say’ or ‘insiders reveal’ and that’s that.
Nobody of any repute gave me anything to make me think we’ve properly gone for anyone but Bilal Toure and Chermiti (I’m also not convinced we’re in for this lad either but time will tell!)

If that’s the case then absolutely fantastic.

The lad is in a calibre of quality which is vastly superior to what we currently have and would definitely take pressure of Chermiti, DCL.

I don’t typically back Bobble, but I think he’s right here.

I just don’t see the thought process of Che Adams, Patson Daka of relegated clubs to Hugo Ekitike… No correlation at all.

Even if it had legs, surely someone in a better position will gazump us?

A lot of transfers are driven by agents these days not by scouts and sporting directors so it might just be that his agent is looking to get him a premier league move for the money and Everton have decided to do it it doesn’t mean he’s been the target all the time.

It means being linked heavily in the news, via “ITK” on Twitter and what not.

My point was everyone seems so set that it’s on, but I’m looking at it, and the source screams to me “Alan Myers”.

But my point I’m making is, Myers stated Patson Daka yesterday but now we’ve changed piste. I agree, I can’t see us being in, but people dismissing Myers for Daka yesterday are now hanging by his word.

I’ve got a list of about 3-4 I believe the rest I don’t take too seriously, but when there’s 3-4 papers saying the same usually there is a case of “no smoke without fire”.

Well it's basically PL experience vs a cheap gamble (loan deal) for a highly rated youngster from abroad.
