Cahill should be on the way out and scored 2 goals last season.... 2.

Naismith is not really a striker...

Jelavic.. yes.

Velios, yes, but can't be relied on for a whole season if was needed.

McAleny, same as Velios, although is he even still here? Wasn't there a rumour he didn't want to renew contract?

We are assuming that Jelavic cant play.

In light of an emergency, Cahill, Naismith and the 2 young uns could certainly fill a "gap".

And to be honest, I would rather play Neville upfront than Rodallega or Anchicbe.

People get a bit carried away with bosmans. Free transfers are not free.

This lad, from what I've seen, is utterly pants. Potential is great and everything, but he'll be 27 in a few weeks. That potential is most likely already wasted. His wages + other fees would be better spent on someone who's actually proven or has potential and the time to fulfil it.

And I don't see the massive obsession with getting more strikers in. We've made do without 1 good striker for ages, and now we at least have 1. Yes besides him we're pretty crap up front, but we have positions to fill in which we don't have even 1 quality player.

Look, i'm not going to sit here and rave about Rodallega like it would be a great coup. But replacing one bad squad player by selling them, with a better squad player on a free is good business in my eyes.

Cahill is not a striker, and defenders have field days against him these days. He should be leaving.

Naismith again, I don't think he would play the lone striker role that well, better behind the main man.

And 2 young'uns.

A free minus the massive signing on fee and the inflated wages, you mean. Rather play the kids.

And im pointing out that replacing a gash player, with a gash player, is bad business.

Does he?

Can you provide me with a link of Moyes saying that please?

Mate, a fair few have said we are looking at him, which means Moyes is looking at him. People such as Sheedy & that John Merro fella. We are definitely at least a little interested. As much as you wish we wasn't.

Trust me, I would rather Moyes plucked some wonder signing out the air too.

Mate in principle I agree with you, but it breaks down a bit because I honestly haven't seen anything to suggest Rodallega is even remotely decent.

Anichebe scored 3 times as many last season in half as many games and he's 4 years younger. Admittedly I'd sell him for £3m without blinking, but that doesn't mean I'd immediately go for Rodallega. I'm not convinced he's even an improvement on Vic.

I doubt a signing on fee for Rodallega would be 'massive' to be fair. And would definitely have cash in hand after if we sold Anichebe and got Rodallega.

Just for the record, we can sell Anichebe without signing up Rodallega. The two things aren't remotely linked.

For sure... But fact remains that we will need another striker in if we sell Anichebe.. and by all accounts, it does appear that we ARE looking at Rodallega.

As much as me, you and others can say we would rather someone else...

IF Moyes gets Rodallega, I do think we'd be in a better position than with Anichebe now, with a little spare cash.

sorry I only get to watch him on hi-light packages here usually, but from what limited amount I have seen of him I dont think he will improve the club that much. it is almost like for like with Anichebe. I'm sure money could be better spent to strenghten other posistions.
