He was on £15k p/w at Wigan.

To ask for £70k p/w is absurd. I wouldn't pay him over £30k p/w.

I think it would be a good thing for everton to distance themselves for wages being the reason why we cant get him (just not being interested would sound much better imo ) , for me it again brings up the Incompetence , financial running of the club , i mean its not like fulham are a huge club that have the, as stated , Much needed state of the art stadium with tons of executive boxes , or oil barren owners throwing money everywhere, but then they do have a sponser deal thats 3x ours so that might help on these matters , but who`s faults that again. :dodgy:

The Board and PR comments , on wether its reasons why theres never a take over (but are everywere else) or why we cant do this or that , are starting to come back and bite them on the arse , i.e Now Running out of excuses

Has the player and agent confirmed he is asking for 70K?

It would,nt be the first time a player we passed on was hyped up in the press to be asking for massive wages then we found out later it was not that figure all along !

The Echo are the clearing house for L4 so don,t jump in with two feet if they are reporting it.

bigmaclad having a convo on twitter with tht (sorry big mac), seems as if rodallega is asking for too much, maybe he will come back with lower demands if he really wants to come here.

Completely agree. This Bosman business has skewed the way contract negotiations now work. I guess agents are arguing that the lack of cost to the club in a transfer fee should be reflected across the contract of the player in wages, signing-on fees and bonuses. The trouble is you then end up with disparity within the club - players of lesser quality earning significantly more than established, long-servings players. Knowing how important morale and team-ethic is to Moyes, I can't see him letting that happen thankfully.

I keep asking myself, does the fact that a player is available for free appear to make them a better player than they really are. I was quite excited about the prospect of this fella, but would I have been so keen (and would he even be a target for the club in the first place) if he was gonna cost us a £4m transfer fee? Probably not - so why pay him nearly that for each of the next 3 years.

If this soesnt happen therell still be a striker coming in, dont worry lids...

Changy told me through PM

It's interesting reading the first few pages of this thread. I was actually almost for this last year. Pre-Jelavic and Vellios coming good.

Shows how much we've improved up front.

If Changy says so it must be true.
