On a different note, I think we are seriously lacking a midfield link man, a player who effectively makes things happen and makes the difference in the final third. Osman in particular has been slated on numerous occasions but his influence on the team is huge and Pienaar similarly.
We miss that creative player who will make things happen and this is probably the most important position that needs to be addressed in my opinion.
Lots will disagree but I think we should of gone out to sign Lallana instead of Lukaku and maybe looked for a cheaper striker. Yes hindsight is a wonderful thing but we need a young Osman/Pienaar type tricky creative player because we are lacking one at the moment big time. I highly doubt one will become available in the January window to solve this problem.

I watched the PM interview, basically it was all waffle. RM had nothing in the way of an explanation but blaming injuries again. Nothing said about his playing style. It was clear BTW he will not hand in his cards.

I hope we drop out of the FA Cup, do not need that right now, need to sort out our league form. A couple more football days like today and we will be down there with Burnley, Leicasted CP, etc. RM just does not seem to see this. The only thing that matters is keeping to his style never mind the consequebnces. I am thinking he has no other idea on tactics, strategies, defence, he just has the one idea.

Remember last season when everyone was saying how much of an improvement Martinez was. Not hearing that so much these days. He really is the perfect example of style over substance: personally he is a very nice, well-spoken, media-friendly bloke; professionally he is regarded as playing football 'the right way' (whatever that means).
Yet where it actually matters - getting results - he's showed at Wigan and now at Everton Athletic that he takes teams backwards.
The way we are now has relegation written all over it.
I cant see where the next points are coming from.
What worries me is how we're going to get another 20 points.
We'll be in the bottom 3 in a months time.

RM: "I thought the only positive was the way we started - we were trying to find momentum but conceding a simple goal affected us too much."
RM: "We had chances today but there is a lack of confidence. It is a tough period but we still want to find real success this season."
RM: "Kevin [Mirallas] was feeling a little bit sore at half-time and we needed everyone to be 100% in order to be dynamic."

When Wigan were relegated in 2012-2013 they had only won 5 games by January 1st, how many games have we won?

Before todays game
Everton have made only (316) tackles, Only Burnley have made less tackles
Kept 3 Clean Sheets, Joint bottom with Leicester on 3
Conceded 31 Goals, Only QPR have conceded more
10 Errors Leading to Goals , nearest teams are on 6
Everton have been caught offside 49 times, more than any other team
Points Won from Losing Positions 2, nearest teams are on 3
Points Lost from Leading Positions 15, Only Swansea have lost more 16

Close the door on your way out Mr Martinice

There must be someone strong enough in the club to shake the players up.
At the moment we are just sliding down the league shrugging our shoulders.
That is clearly the manager's job, and he is clearly not willing to do it, or he is incapable of doing it.
Martinez is a weak manager who has already taken one Premier League club down. Can we really let him have the opportunity of making it two?

Every team below us is fighting for their lives, Leicester came from 2 down, Burnley came from 2 down, we are sleep walking into a relegation fight we aren't cut out for because they think they are too good to go down. We'll if they are start playing like it, our bad run has hardly been against the top 4. Just can't see a sign of a positive light, we need someone like Donavon did in the past to come in and really inspire a turn around or wake the fools up.

@daz4matty The players should be laying into themselves mate, shouldn't need a manager for them to sort it out like a little gang of 5 year old girls. They are supposed to be men, so they should stand up and be counted and start acting like men. Every single one of them an absolute fraud with there bull crap comments of wanting to turn it around. I've just watched a dreadful Hull side absolutely demolish us there because they were desperate for the points, they wanted it more, they were fighting for their manager under pressure and gave some sweat and effort to the cause leaving 25,000 Hull fans satisfied that there team actually do give a flying one. We've just made Jelavic look like Marco Van Basten ffs JELAVIC looked like a bloody 20M player because we are that soft we jump out of tackles instead of into them. Sick of every single one of them, ALL of them are absolute frauds and a disgrace to OUR football club

Sigurdsson was the one we should have been in for. Tadic would have been a gamble as he was untested in the Prem, but Sigurdsson was an obvious fit.

I left 10 minutes from the end, absolute gash.

Robles and Alcaraz simply aren't good enough to wear the shirt, torch the pair of them.

His tactics today were inept, his substitutions mystifying, he's lost the plot for me and given the lack of heart and passion, the dressing room as well.

Truly awful

I was all for Roberto before we even got him, and until this Xmas period, I've still supported him and thought he would get it right, but my unrequited love for this club has finally altered my blinkered view. Having watched Everton since the late Catterick days, I can honestly say that this run is as bad as anything I've known under Bingham, Lee, HK 2/3, Smith and Moyes; the spineless, clueless drudge is only comparable with Mike Walkers tenure, and in fairness to him, he never had players like Coleman, Barkley, McCarthy, Mirallas etc.
This season was ruined by the managers arrogance and selfishness before a ball was kicked: he assumed he only needed to secure Lukaku and last season's (mid-season) form would automatically continue; he preferred his highly lucrative Brazillian jaunt to his day job - failing to prepare his players for a tough season ahead. He never had the intelligence to realise his ageing defence and dodgy goalkeeper needed attention, and his comments about corners, defending and persisting with his redundant ideology have sealed it for me.
"Depart I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go"
