Funnily enough, that used to happen, many years ago(whats New Year without a bit of nostalgia?) Harry Catterick and his staff used to spend Friday nights patrolling clubs in Liverpool and sending players home to bed....the Royal Tiger(of fond memory) was a regular Friday night watering hole for Roy Vernon and others. Vernon would sit at the bar with a small orange juice in front of him, and his proper alcoholic drinks, on a little shelf under the bar ..'What, me boss? Its only orange' fooled nobody, and definitely not Hary Catterick, who knew all the players tricks, and a lot more!.

The weather over here in Hull is dull, damp and overcast, which I think matches the mood of most of us at the moment. The watering holes close to the ground are open for business for us away supporters, even putting out advertisements on the road side. The chippies are open, try the local delicacy of pattie and chips and if the Cooplands opens it is 4 sausage rolls for a £1.

And I'm changing my post match promise of not shaving if we get beat.

Three points will do nicely for a new year resolution.
