This is a big test for us
Older readers remember when a team where on a bad run they'd play us and beat us
Bigger test for hull imo
If they win it might buy phelan some time
If not tin tack for him
But it's a must 3-0 for the blue boys
big Rom hatrick

If we all could forget we are Everton and look at this dispassionately. We have the team in 7th place playing the bottom team. The team that beat Arsenal playing a team who can't beat anyone. A team with growing confidence against a team with no confidence.
Got 0-0 written all over it.

...up the Toffees.

I'm going to this but I'm not confident. Mind you, I'm never confident with our team at the moment. We should be better than them but they were decent for an hour against City. I fear it will be more difficult than folk think.

Nah. Gonna smash these. A season defining win, with confidence boosting performances all round. You've picked a good one to attend. A veritable goal fest and some decent cameos from fringe players coming on as subs once the game is won with 30 minutes still to play.

Watched their game against Man City and they were decently solid for a large part of that game.

I wouldn't be getting too excited or "expecting a win". Could easily be a tough slog and more disappointment. Look at how awful Swansea are and they managed to easily frustrate us.

Well, it may be quite a privilege really but we play City just before the City becomes the City of Culture 2017. Get in a load of City’s in the first sentence. We are involved in the last major sporting event before the big kick off at midnight on the 31st. For those who have already decided to come to Hull during the year, you have made a wise choice. For those who are considering it, take the plunge and book a hotel. For those that aren’t considering venturing to this wonderful city, you will be missed and will miss out on some great events, the city itself and the people.

Football. City are rooted to the foot of the table and according to most supporters they are ‘going down’. It doesn’t look good for them at the moment with only 18 points to date. Which means a big ask to reach the ‘magically’ 40, but could be lower this season who knows. But at least they will be playing in the premier league during the first quarter of being the City of Culture. City have been very unlucky in a lot of games. Against West Ham 57% of Hammers voted the ‘post’ as their MOTM.

City play 3 at the back and that will probably be Maguire, Dawson and Davies. The last 2 don’t have any great pace but read the game well, Maguire is a good solid defender. The wing backs are Elmohamady on the right and Robertson on the left, both are half decent good going forward but a bit suspect defensively particularly closing down crosses.

In midfield Huddlestone is still chugging his way around a football pitch but he does have those around him prepared to do his running, Clucas and Livermore. Snodgrass plays on the right and tries to support Mbokani up front.

City tend to sit back and hit teams on the break using long balls to Mbokani who is quite good at holding the ball up, who tends to lay it off to Snodgrass or the wing backs who get forward quickly, the same with Livermore and Clucas. City do get a lot of bodies in and around the box and will throw loads of crosses in. That said, they have only scored 9 at home and have conceded 18. Barn door springs to mind.

The way City play going forward leaves them open to the counter attack themselves, something we should be able to take advantage of.

Really looking forward to this ‘home’ game for me with plenty of pub time beforehand. If we play to any decent standard then we should win this by a good few goals. But it will depend on which Everton turns up away from home.

This is a MUST WIN game as Southampton play WBA and we play southampton next match...

If Southampton lost to WBA and we win against Hull then beat them we will go 8 points ahead of them!!!

Havent we been linked to one of their kids who is still on tiny wages?

It was the left back Josh Tymon.

"Josh was just 16 years of age when he was handed his first team debut by manager Steve Bruce in a FA Cup tie at Bury in January 2016.

A product of the Tigers' Academy, the left back regularly impressed for the Club's U21s during 2015/16, while an impressive first appearance in the senior side earned him a second start against Arsenal in February.

Named the Academy Player of the Season for 2015/16, Josh has also represented England at U17 level".
