Personally wouldn't play 3 CBs here. Against certain teams I get it but Hull will sit deep and don't have a huge threat on the counter so we need to be more forward thinking. Also can't afford to give away cheap free kicks as Snodgrass is ok on the dead ball

Winnable away game. These are the ones we need to make easy work of if we want to keep our 7th place.

Sad thing is even if we win our next two games and the teams above us lost all their games, we will still be in 7 th place. The gap between the top 6 clubs and the rest of the league is already established and our epic fail in losing non stop in the last few weeks (after a strong start) has pretty much stopped us from making Europe next year.

And in any case finishing 7th or 17th makes no real difference - no extra prizes for 7th.

(OK I'm in a bleak mood. )

Of course it makes a difference or Martinez would still be here and we would all be happy. What a bizarre statement.

Need to win this and should. Won't be straightforward though. They need to go for the win though and that might help us

....yep, I'm thinking their CB pairing are proper defenders and will be tough to get through. Hope I'm not tempting fate but their problems are at the other end of the pitch, more specifically scoring goals. I can see a low scoring game given our lack of creativity, it might be a matter of who takes a rare chance when it comes along. They'll be an aerial threat from set pieces, especially with Snodgrass delivery.

It won't be easy.

I think we'll draw but if we go ahead perhaps we'll have enough to see out a win, their heads might drop, particularly if we scored early.

Lukaku's goal on Boxing Day was important, we should be a little more bullish and go after them.

The significance of 2 away wins on the bounce going into a home game on Monday with the window opening would be huge, and everything looks a lot brighter then.

But it's Everton, and recent history has thought me to expect banana skins on every corner.
