Spot on. To me, an immigrant should have the right to whine about things if he or she feels the inclination. Otherwise, it's one rule for them and another for those born in the country. Why should Fred Bloggs of Kirkby be able to bitch about things when Fred Singh of Bombay can't?

Like Whiteboots, I bitch about the country I live in all the time, and so do the other foreigners that I go to my classes with. We don't hate the place, far from it, we just like to have a good whine.

Now there is a difference between hating the country you've moved to and just feeling you've the right to criticize.
Well said mate. I criticize things in Spain if Ithink it's something to complain about. Another thing is criticising everything and comparing everything unfavourably with your country of origin. I know people like that and it does my head in

Depends what you are criticising about. If the government is being unkind to you, then fair enough - but I think we as a nation have been very open armed with many nations, and have had nothing but the piss taken.

apart from the Guerkhas. We've treated those guys very shabbily.

Blimey, talk about feeling not wanted!
Perhaps we should have an area reserved for nasty Welsh people?
I think I'll just go into a corner and stick my daffodil up my nose.:(

Not all Welsh people are horrid creatures, not all scousers are robbin' cheatin' layabouts. Not all Scots are mean and not all English people are arrogant pillocks.
People are just people with different cultures depending on where and how they are brought up.

I was born in Wales and my first language was Welsh, my mother is Welsh but her father was a Cockney, born in Bishopsgate, her mother was second generation Irish.
My maternal great grandmother was Prussian.

On my dad's side, grandmother Italian, grandfather Sicilian, paternal great grandfather Morrocan.

I married a French speaking north African. I've lived in Wales, Italy, England and Switzerland. I can speak English, Italian, Welsh, French and could, many years ago, speak fluent German.
I'm not saying that to show off but to show that I do have experience of living and speaking other languages and cultures.

With all of that 'foreign' blood in my veins, what does that make me?
A nasty Welsh person, a cheating Italian, an arrogant English woman or a scary Mafioso?
People are just people with different colour skin, cultures and habits. Bad people are just that, wherever they were born.

Let's not assume that because you were born in a certain country it automatically makes you a nasty piece of work.

And before anyone asks - when Wales play Italy, I support Wales.
When ANYONE plays France - I support ANYONE.....:P

Marital bliss, it was not(n)

Ah mate, it was not meant to be a witch hunt. I was accused of something by a supposed mate, most of what I said was in jest because I know many Welsh people, and it's well known that they are fairly prudent with their cash.

Most of those I know are game for a laugh with it. But this lad took it seriously, and he's not even Welsh, he's from Surrey, but lives in Cardiff.

wanted in a nice, matey sort of way, of course, not matey in a MATE sort of Biblical sense......

hmmm, time I went to sleep I think. I'm confusing myself now.
