Only other thing would be to start a thread (or maybe one "lost GOTers" thread) to see if anyone knew a poster irl or had other non-GOT contact.

There is a version of this on the main Palace forum and it works very well.
Additionally there is a “sticky” tribute thread for notable former members who have passed.

I think this is the way to go. Family or friends notifying GOT for you.

There was a gentleman several years ago that passed and his family logged in to let us know. And more recently @messymascot arranged to have a friend let us know.

As said above, when regulars just suddenly stop posting is defo a strange one. Leaves you wondering if they're ok etc and not have a way of knowing.

I’ve asked hubby to do so too.

Not just because I wouldn’t want to leave my friends wondering but also I know y’all would be there to help and support him at weird hours if he needed it x
