We need to make a choice, lock a flank down and isolate a side we think we can get at. Then play through the middle through Iwobi and work the ball wide to isolate their LB or RB and keep going at them. Advanced wide play then means whipped deliveries looking for C-Lewin or some smarter play at the edge of the box and getting shots on target or looking for the through ball. (Lot of throughs there). We are finding out repeatedly without Richarlison we cant expect this squad to carry the fight on both flanks and look to push Iwobi up as well. We're getting picked off and exposed.Agree with this, I’m sure it’s no coincidence that his worst came has come when Pnana was moved further forwards. Instead of doing what he does best, ie intercept, win the ball back and give it to someone to progress, he’s having to start moves too. Not sure when that was ever a strong point of his.
Throw the McCarthy eleven up and lets have a look...If a player constantly needs better players around him to even be considered effective, he is not the top player you all think he is.
I remember being excited about seeing Schneiderlin/Gana go up against Wanyama/Dembele during that period of good form under Koeman.I feel a Schneiderlin/Gomes refresher course may be on order.

Of course, they then proceeded to get laughed off the park, but you have to make the most of those rare moments where you really believe Everton's on the up and up.
I've never got the celebration of Gana his alleged strength of breaking up play is bare minimum stuff the inability to create thereafter means opposition just sit off him regrouping in the knowledge he can't hurt them. He's another example of the "partial footballer" we seem to revel in and to top it all he's now getting knocks.
Too trueI know you watched tonight mate.
Did you see that cliff? Did you walk off that cliff? Walking off that cliff is the same as going from the likes of Gueye to then having to pick Davies and Doucoure.
There is no in between.
It's Gueye and Onana with Iwobi (let's put the possibility of Garner in as well) then a drop off in epic proportions of Davies and Doucoure.
Davies and Doucoure aren't fit to grave Everton reserves currently, let alone the first team squad and let alone the first 11.
The fact he got his chance to play with world class players in the first place clearly proves he had what it took.If a player constantly needs better players around him to even be considered effective, he is not the top player you all think he is.
I don't deny he's improved the side but I'm in my 60s and might have effected the same improvement, it's the lowest of bars. Anyway I hope he proves me wrongI know you watched tonight mate.
