The trouble is, to where does he go. Nobody is going to take him, even on a free, unless we pick up the tab for at least half of his wages, the same goes for Gomes, Gbamin and to a lesser extent Keane. Dele Alli will have to be paid off. We really have a tough season financially coming up, thankfully some of them are out of contract at the end of next season. Not defending him, i suspect largely its also because of the players he is surrounded by. Place him with better players, and things are different. The problem isn't just down to him, they are all making mistakes, some more obvious than others, that also includes the manager.
He does need to go, particularly because we won't be able to afford his wages in the championship next season.
Is it a case of its his turn this week, next week some other player will be a useless twonk?!?
Still can't believe he took that freekick.
What on earth was that all about. lol lol
Garner should be playing next to Onana...as ive said for 4+ games now.
Possibly just for the sake of changing it up, but let's not pretend Garner has done anything to 'deserve' a run in the team. He's looked at best OK in his performances so far, he's not exactly banged the door down. And i'm a fan of Onana and the potential he has but he's hardly undroppable himself.Garner should be playing next to Onana...as ive said for 4+ games now.
tbf Onana for about the 50th goal conceded this season didn't track his man. He's the wrong side of Joelinton for the 2nd goal and then looks round as if to blame everyone else.
Got no awareness when defending and facing his own box.

A rather simplistic way of looking at it, but also ignores the fact that I said 'at best'. Yes he's had injuries etc but he's been here for virtually an entire season and I'm yet to see anything at all from him that makes me excited to see what he can do. Gueye has made mistakes but he's also done a lot more good than Garner has to be honest. That's not writing Garner off or saying he won't get better, but he's another one who appears to be far better in people's minds than he is on grass at the moment. If all our players did ok then we'd not be where we are.

It may yes. And it may not. That's kind of the point. You don't have to have an incredible memory to be able to recall people saying that Davies, Kenny, Holgate, Godfrey etc were the answer if only they were given a run of games. None of them were. Like I said, I'm not saying Garner or Patterson or whoever won't turn out to be good players but the truth is at the moment it's very much a case of us saying 'they can't do any worse' rather than there being any real evidence that they're the answer. As long as we're all honest about that there's no problem, but there's definitely a tendency to claim these players are much better than they've ever shown themselves to be.It may help if he (and others) were given chances.
