Depends how much a replacement would be though I suppose. We've got people on here saying getting £30m for a 29 year old is a no brainer, but we should pay £40m for Doucoure, who's 26. So in 3 years time he'll have depreciated in value by £10m using their own logic. That doesn't sound like good business to me.Football is also a business and sometimes you just gotta sell players because it makes sense business wise. I'm sure Everton have a player lined up and want to get as close to 40/45m as possible but let's be honest, anything close to 30m is amazing

30M is buttons these days by the way.
Well it does from a football perspective yeah, but you were specifically talking about it being a business decision. As a business decision, spending a lot of money on someone who’s value immediately starts to decrease isn’t wise.Depends though what Doucoure gives you in the 3 seasons before he reaches 29 doesn't it.
Like I said, I reckon we will have a replacement lined up, probably cheaper and younger.
I don't think we would sell him if we didn't have anyone lined up (unless the soft gits really do pay 40/45m)

The new Tommy Gravesen
I must see a different game than everyone else. Once again he was immense against Bournemouth. Great tackling, interceptions. Loads of energy from first to last.
Oh, and his passing was really good.

I agree that selling him for £30m and signing a good young replacement would make sense, we just need to stay away from the idea that the sale itself is automatically a sound business decision.
