Maybe his ability is overrated but his importance is not.

That's a great description of it. With the correct changes we could improve because he really is a pretty average player with the ball. Not bad like a lot of people will say but average. But with the wrong decisions it could be a complete mess. Nervously curious lol.

He's too slow. He's not bad, though, but the PL is a bad fit for him IMO. Lille also has him on the market because he's never going to play in front of Mendes and Aouar.

Soumare? Good player, but pretty young. Would love to have him, but he's not ready to step in for Gana. He hurt France in the U20 World Cup when he got hurt - any idea if he's still out? Sangare is and I'd hope we can get him. We'd smash Toulouse's signing record I would think, too. Can't imagine he wouldn't come although I did see an interview with him as I recall that indicated he wanted to stay in France for another year. He could bring his buddy Pepe with him on a cut rate deal. Ha.

But neither of those guys are as good as Gana yet. Sangare could be awesome though.

We could get other players in France - Gbamin would be another, but a bit different from Gana. It's just going to be very difficult to replace him without completely revamping our midfield, and that would require buying more players than just a simple Gana replacement.
 
Good lad with a good heart who could have left in January, so owes us nothing and deserves a chance to play CL football.

In return we make a big profit and we’ve had 3 years of good service.
