Not a chance. We just gave injury prone Gibson a new contract and no one's going to make a credible offer for him.
McCarthy's going nowhere either. He's still possibly our strongest DM. We can't afford Carvalho even if we have 100 mill net to spend which looks very unlikely.
we cant afford? even if we have 100m? are you sure about that?

He looks abar 16 and very small and light for a defensive mid from that picture in town(if it's him) next to that kid.

Anyway lets hope he has a positive impact for us whoever he is.

I mean we can't afford to spend on an already overloaded position when we need a new GK, RB cover, CD, LW and striker.

New CD looks to be arriving today/tomorrow, if stones goes then that money will go on a replacement anyways so not a problem
LW links with Janujazzzzzz on loan with Mirallas already there then doesnt seem much issue if that happens so not really any cost
Striker - pre season kinda has shown that we dont need two backups now, Deulofeu can fill the nippy option so just need a big lump in the pelle mode
New keeper - not exactly gonna break the bank with the likes of Begovic or 'random german' costing about 10m max
RB cover - maybe that is where we will see the young lads given the chance if needed to be called upon, Browning, Holgate, Kenny and Davies (not to mention Pennington can and have all been tried out there, makes more sense than spending 10m on a back up

Any more midfielders coming in - sales of the blokes they are replacing will cover a large chunk of the cost anyways, McCarthy, Cleverely etc

With so many other positions that need to be addressed we can't afford to dedicate another 20-30million to a position that's already overloaded.
That's even if we'll have a net spend of 100 mill which we won't. No where near. We're not getting Carvalho.

Agree with this. I dont really understand all of the shouts for us to sign a backup rb.

Ok maybe the youngsters arent ready to be playing every week just yet but fingers crossed Coleman can stay fit for most of the season and the youngsters can come in and do a job for us if needed.

Rather see us target other positions that we have a more pressing need for

How about if if we sell some of the players that are having their spots taken mate, yanno klike every team does when they bring in better players?

Cleverley and McCarthy get sold and we loan one out then we arent overloaded anymore really are we - and would have anything from 20-30m from doing so
