If Brands was to leave at end of contract...

Wondering if we need or are suited to a DOF. We have had two with in my view very limited success. Brands after a decent first season, seems to be flailing, this has to be a good year for him and us. Up to now two targets have gone to other clubs and the next two seem to be taking an age. Its Marcels job, so the naturally the buck stops with him. Haven't given up on him yet, seems a decent guy, but a big transfer window for him, the clocks ticking.

How hard can that role really be? I mean your negotiating at the end of the day, either the players wants to move or they don’t. As for players going out, don’t massage their fragile egos from day one and be brutally honest, lad your on your way out if you don’t pull your socks up and forget about any contract extension, espically you TOM!

Its dead easy to sell players like Sandro who earn 120k a week.

Yes we have missed targets but I think it is down to us not wishing to meet valuations as we do not have the money. There is the crux has our DoF messed up there and we are thus losing out. There has to be 3 parties to a signing surely, the DoF, Manager and Board.

I think it’s a very hard role actually, I’m sure better guys than Brands would fail too. It’s a model that’s very difficult for where we are in the league, and our stated ambition. We need seriously stability, for it to work. I’m not convinced in the PL it works so great.
