If you could change one football rule what would it be?

Bin VAR.

It's actually a more sinister sounding 'Bin' than Bin Laden.

"You may have defeated Bin Laden but you are now to meet the mighty BIN VARRRRR!!!!!! AAAAHHHH HAHAHAHHAHAHAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!"

I'm gonna to that in the house later when she asks me to put the bins out "You may have defeated Bi......." you get my drift.

Sorry.

The pain that comes with it..

Haha this appeared as the sole post on the last page when I saw it so I skipped back a page to see what contact you meant it in and you simply just meant what you said. That's quite sad, almost postcard to a friend in heaven sad. What has this game done to us. Imagine going back in time nd telling a Viking what it's all about and how it makes us get angry, sad, sit etc. He'd take one look at you, shake his head, down his grog, throw his axe at an Eagle and walk off chomping on it shaking his head.

Referees that make clear and obvious mistakes that can only be attributed to gross incompetence or worse corruption/bias, can be stoned to death in the stadium car park by the fans after the game.

It's got to be scrap VAR , we have all seen games without VAR recently and the flow of the games are so much better.
We need to trust the referees again as they are not infallible but it has to be better than 3 faceless people in a office somewhere drawing lines and looking for reasons to give offsides or penalties to teams of there preference.

3 subs named in a match day squad.

Simplify handball rule - hits the arm below the elbow it's a foul.

Throw in taken where the ball left play not 20 yards down the line.

Ban any talk of phases of play / actions. XG and all other meaningless wham they chat on TV.

Referees have to wear a mask so no-one knows who they are. Take their egos out of the game and we might start seeing better decisions.

Really, I wish I could go back to watching football in the late 80s to mid 90s before they starting tinkering with the game to its detriment.

The late 80s to mid 90s was the start of our downfall. I'd happily go back to 1984 and see us win some stuff again.

Indeed, was referencing the time when I started going to football but would gladly go back to 83 / 84 to witness the best times in Aberdeen and Evertons histories.

Not so much a rule change, but I would like to see yellow cards dished out every time a player cheats.

Free kick and you stand over the ball rather than go back 10 yards - yellow card

Get a small bump and go down clutching your head - yellow card

Try and steal 20 yards at a throw in - yellow card

Goalie holds onto the ball for 20 seconds instead of releasing it after 6 seconds - yellow card (and free kick)

Start handing out yellow cards for all those cheating moves and we may just have a game worth watching again
