2024/25 Iliman Ndiaye

I know nothing about injuries of this type but I do know that even for minor injuries players legs are put in a boot or in this case a brace. It is standard procedure.

We simply have to wait and see what the injury is.
We may get some indication from David Moyes tomorrow but it may be too early for a definite diagnosis.
Going to be bracing myself for the worst watching the presser later

As I have posted on here before, a Lachman test is also not conclusive due to other factors that impact the stability of a knee, only an MRI tells you for sure. They will have done that by now, so will know.

I agree, an ACL would be a dreadful injury for a player of his profile and style both mentally (confidence to twist/turn like he does now) and physically (he would no doubt have a lateral tendonesis as well which limits rotation to reduce the likelihood of rerupture). This would be similar to the impact Bolasie's injury had on him.

Sorry to hear about your own situation - a horrid injury, I know.
Yeah, agreed it's not a conclusive test especially when you add swelling/muscle constriction (he'd been sprinting round prior). Only a scan can give you a full indication. It is a horrid injury and I can see why they call it a career ender. The rehab from it can be so frustrating getting to a point where you feel good then get hit by a set back. Let's hope for the best! It would be awful for him to get hit with it just when he looked to be peaking in terms of confidence after Marseille . He's a special player, one to get you off your feet.

He hit the ground with his right foot just like Broja so...

Broja was back from that a few days later for the Peterborough game. Would be great if similar happened for Ndiaye.

My only positive thought process atm is he was going for a scan the next day which I'm assuming means the swelling wouldn't have been bad. Others would probably know better but I'm sure with serious ones the swelling needs to go down and can usually take 48hrs before doing a scan.

I'd ask the missus as she's a physio but with her being a rs she'll say his legs fell off to wind me up.

Just tell her you heard about a lad called Nliman Idiaye who kicked the grass instead.

I watched it again last night, was about 6 minutes from him doing it to when he limps off.

There isn't a whole sideways movement of the knee but he does kick the ground really hard. I'm hoping it's a sore jarring of the knee. You can see them working on it, stretching it (can't see them trying to rotate it but I'm sure they would have tested that) and then as soon as he stands up he knows somethings wrong.

Sick of always getting bad news and I'm hoping we get positive news later. I don't want him missing the last 6 games at Goodison cos he's a real shining light for all Evertonians and would be a really sad way for his season to finish. I think he'd like to be the last Everton player to score at Goodison.

Yeah, not always but often you get a sense when something is really bad - but the fact it didn’t seem too horrific on the replay, and he was able to think he might be able to carry on - makes me hope it’s not too terrible.

Normally 24-48 hours after I think with the swelling yesh, so here's hoping. He'll be out a minimum of 3-4 weeks regardless though

Yeah some you can just tell straight off, Mangala foot planted caught in the side, or the none contact ones too when the foot gets caught in the turf, usually those are the ones that cause the really bad ones. Ndiaye fingers crossed just look like he badly jarred it - do t wanna tempt fate but not seen a cruciate going from that type of contact before.

I'm hoping Moyes comes out today and says its just a jarred knee and he'll be sound in a couple of weeks. That's me being unrealistically optimistic.

Ndiaye is the kind of player with his movement and constant turning that you simply couldn't risk him at all with any little tweak to his knee, but I'm just hoping beyond hope we just get the rub of the green on this one because I'm genuinely tired of nice things always getting taken away from us and when we fear the worst it always ends up being the very worst.
