We'd faced terrorism for years here in the UK, but this was on a different magnitude and mentality. Mass murder with perpetrators who wanted to be martyrs.

I remember sitting in an office and it was almost beyond reality what was going on.

I can't get over the sight of those poor families trying to get on a flight out of Kabul. The faces of those little children.

There was footage of it on the news this morning and I could feel the tears coming.

I literally asked myself out loud 'why am I looking at this' and changed the channel.

Up the twin towers the day before. Mate and myself had gone to the Jackson 5/Michael Jackson concert the Thursday prior and were in New York for a little break with free tickets with Air France (we work in the travel business)

Just couldn't believe it, the people we had seen nigh on 24 hours prior would have been there just couldn't comprehend the magnitude as we were basically landing back in the UK when the news broke.
