….what a composed performance from Michael Keane, obviously a terrific finish but some vital headed clearances in those last 20mins gives him my MoM.

The fact Dyche picks him ahead of O’Brien is not because he’s a ‘pet’ or a ‘favourite’, it’s solely down to judgement. It’s a results business and Managers select what they believe is their best X1 available. Most of us would select differently but Keane justified his managers decision today.

Key for me was the CM partnership of Gueye/Doucoure. Dyche has tried to find the right formula, ironic that arguably the best we’ve looked is with the two old fella’s today. I was pleasantly surprised at how decent they were in possession, Gueye played well I thought.

Lots of very decent performances today, not many poor ones. Everybody seems to be very much playing for the cause, can enjoy a few rums tonight and a delightful Chinese takeaway to celebrate Mrs Eggs birthday.

Can see you are made up with today mate and yeah the three points are great to get.

But Ipswich looked every bit as bad as the promoted sides looked last year, saw them play west ham and they were terrible, same today.

I'm not gonna start doing cartwheels over Michael Keane having a good game v a championship calibre group of players.

If the centre mid didn't look decent v these then we are in serious trouble, we still had the same old issue of the last twenty playing to hold on, given the nature of the game before that, why? No subs besides the one predictable one.

Happy birthday to the Mrs though mate have a great night.

….as you well know, I’m Keane’s worst critic but he was very composed today and certainly justified his Managers judgement.

I’m always wary of players who show improved form when their contracts are about to expire, I wouldn’t be offering him anything but seeing as though Davies was offered a new deal I can see it happening here.

I’m always chuffed when the Blues win. It’s daft for a 68 year old but it makes me feel chipper and the rum taste better. No easy games in this league as Ipswich showed at home to Villa, you still have to overcome the opposition.
