Is He Trying To Get The Sack

This is an extremely poor squad. If a new manager comes in, he might get a standard 'new manager bounce' for a few games but it will then no doubt inevitably revert back to type.

I heard a rumour last night that if he gets sacked, we have to pay him another years wage on top of his whatever is left on his deal. So he's probably holding out for one last payday.

I don’t believe this is true. Nobody gets an additional year’s salary beyond the scope of your fixed term contract as a reward for getting the sack.

Managers contracts are dodgy mate. We were still paying Martinez and Koeman when they had international jobs because officially they didn't have new employment as a domestic manager.

Seriously is that what he's after? Continues with Keane and Young. Subs are baffling at best, does not appear bothered. Am I just jumping down a conspiracy rabbit hole ?

It just comes off like he's trying to manufacture a moment using bad ingredients in the hope it turns around outlooks and attitudes. His kitchen's built on a sinkhole, though.

After supporting since 1961. I am beyond anger, just resigned to relegation. Am I alone?
Agreed. I have been there a decade longer, but relegation could not be worse than this limbo. It's just one embarrassing self-inflicted catastrophe after another.

No. I actually think he went out of the way tonight to try and get the fans back on his side with the lineup. For me, it’s too little to late. If this was early in the year, fans would have been more forgiving. He tried his way and neglected the players that Kev brought in and failed. Now that Goodison is toxic and the pressure is on the players have to deal with the atmosphere he created. Just a crappy situation to play in

Yes, but I’ve never heard of an agreement where a manager effectively extends his contract by an additional year upon getting sacked. It would be such a ridiculous agreement because it’s literally a sacking bonus!
