good OP point, the fact teams like wigan, swansea and portsmouth have won trophies very recently states of course we're ready. if we can keep that core together they have to win something you feel, especially if we have them all in their prime - we have the right young manager as well

Nah, we'll never win a cup, only teams who spend loads of money win cups. Apart from teams who won cups that didn't spend loads of money. But they all got relegated so if you want to win a cup you want us to get relegated.
