This is a simple one really. From the day he took over to were we are now is a million miles apart. He's done an absolute fantastic job. The players he's brought in for the money he's spent. At the beginning of the season i used to think

"will we stay up, or is this the year"

Not any more, now im hoping to break the champions league. Even with the compatition around spendind fortunes. He's done a fantastic job........up to now.

Thing is.........on radio phone in's an forums theirs a lot of talk about the next step an how to get their.

So the Question is simple really........IS MOYES THE MAN ??? to take us their. I'd like to know what the people on here think.

Pearsonly i love moyes, he's brought back a smile to my face. As an evertonian i can hold my head high again. I think if he's backed properly he'll become a legend at our club. Even the most sucsessfull ever. Theirs not many people id swap him for. I really think great thing are on the horizon. As long as we give him the right money.

So their we go people.........IS MOYES THE MAN??

Yup, Moyes has done an amazing job and really should be backed financially to help us break the top four.

moyes has done very well with the level of financial support he's had to date. unfortunately this is likely to be the ongoing scenario for the forseeable, so i'd like to see him continue in the role. ironically, if we were ever suddenly in a position to provide the kind of funds moyes competitors have to spend the level of expectation would rise & the pressure on moyes become more intense, so if he failed to meet those expectations we'd end up with a higher profile manager with a record of success at "the next level". however, this won't happen under the current regime so i think it's a case of continuing to make steady progress with moyes at the helm.

I reckon your selling old Moyesey a little short there. Were not talking going from Park footie to premier league, but he's been on a fast track to bigger things since he started. People like that dont fold under pressure, they thrive on it. A lesser manager would have gone long ago, in fact he's in the top three for longevity and he's only 40 something?

Theres only three managers I would trust in the premiership to manage us beside him. Wenger, Coppell and O'Neil. He can have all the fifth place finishes and still be in the job for life.

I see Moyes as a role model for players and fans alike. He's made mistakes, weve stuck with him, and when he can start getting the quality he needs youll see 'Moyes' teams. Just like Fergie and Wenger have their own style Moyes definetley is developing his own. The sexy footie is developing with every new signing, you cant deny it. The dross kick and chase is a 'back to one' tactic as we strive for a higher groove and find ourselves during games.

Back him, he's the man.

I agree with what you'v wrote Mcbain......just the copple thing Thou. Are you sure??

Look at the guy. Would you mess with him?

He does an equally good job with less money than we have.

Their on the verge of going down Maccer!! I know thats a little harsh, an he's done a good job their. But id never have him as everton manager.

He's lost the support of his locker room though, Lita, Sonko and Faye have all fell out with him.

I don't think Moyes has ever had internal problems that he hasn't dealt with before they got so bad.

i think you've misread my post somewhat, it wasn't an anti-moyes post, as the tone of your response seems to indicate. i'm not suggesting that ,moyes can't handle the pressure, merely that it's in the scenario whereby the club have substantial funding available for the manager that we are most likely to see a change in manager, should he fail to meet the increased level of expectation that comes with such funding. i agree that moyes has certainly grown into the role & i see no sign of his development halting just yet. in fact i believe he has the potential to be a "great" - whether he will or not only time will tell.

as for coppell - a joke, surely. i like the man & his football, but don't believe we'll ever see him at a "big" club after he bailed on manchester city - it's outside his comfort zone, imo.
o'neil is ok, but i wouldn't swap moyes for him, i'm not sure whether o'neil isn't already at the top of his game & unlikely to improve further, but maybe i judge him unfairly.

as for "Back him, he's the man", i did say "i'd like to see him continue in the role."

Big heads need popping from time to time.

I just reckon with the squad and the results he can grind out Id rate him higher than 95% of the managers out there.

No, no misreading or pointing finger here Dennis.

I hear what you say and agree, only the fact that pressure is a given in the Premiership. Moyes will be dieing to get his hands on some bucks to spend, and no doubt he bails BK up from time to time for more cash.

Moyes has said from day one, his job as a manager is to raise the expectations of the club, that includes not just the fans, but also the players, the board and the footballing community as a whole, which he's done excellently.

The question of whether he's the man to take us to 'the next level' annoys me. Once he stops improving the squad you can question whether he's peaked, but this season has seen progress in so many areas you can't possibly say there are signs we've peaked!

We're banging on the glass ceiling, and it won't by any means be easy to break it! The entire system is set against us and any team hoping to break into the elite. Even if we get 4th, something which is extremely difficult, we then find ourselves unseeded or lowly seeded at best, meaning that we have a tough qualifier to get through. After that, we'd probably be 3rd or 4th seed in the group, meaning progress would be an up hill climb to put it mildly. The fact that Moyes is even challenging to get into the elite when all around us outspend us is a miracle, and I have complete faith that he will take us to the next level, and if he can't, I don't see anyone else who can.

in that case your original response makes little sense, as you accuse me of selling moyes short - this only fits if you consider it inconceivable that moyes could fail to meet raised expectations, etc. & so my very mention of it indicates a recognition of moyes' human fallibility, thereby selling him short.

you close the same post by calling for the backing of moyes, thereby implying that my post indicated that i don't. i don't see how you could get that from my post, unless you somehow misread it.

as for your comment above re "pointing finger" - wtf is that about?

completely agree, the only way another manager would improve on what moyes has done to date would be if we had more money to support them & if that were the case i'd still rather see that money given to moyes to continue building the squad he's been developing these last few years.

well you say that moyes does very well with the level of financial support to date and speculate that if he got more more money it would be ironic that the level of expection would rise?

I soundly pointed out that the level of pressure in the Premier league is massive no matter what level of funding you get and should have further pointed out how high we set our examples for this club.

Untie your knickers mate.
