Is Premier League Boring?

Personally this season has been worst season ever, an average RS side, who have an appalling defence have managed to comfortably win title. Their nearest challengers Arsenal have managed to continually do their best to drop points. I used to know most players from other clubs, now I don't even bother watching other teams. It it just me that finds modern game tediously boring?

Yep....absolutely crap.

Go back 15 years.

The reason we love Ndiaye so much because he's throw back to when a player used individual brilliance to beat a man.

Individualism has been completely squashed out the game.

i'd tend to agree: average champions who've played poorly at times but kept winning, no real title challenge, relegation all but done by end of March. Mostly games dominated by slow ponderous passing and possession that rarely translates to a shot on target.

Its been a myth for years that the premiership is fast paced and too quick for some players. The stats bear out that of the top leagues its the one with most passes before any shot. Then you have teams like City and Arsenal that off the ball break up the game with "professional fouls" and all the other gamesmanship that just takes all the joy and flow out the game. If you cant tell I blame Pep and his protégé for the current malaise.

Wouldn't be surprised if the PL are seeing diminishing returns the last few years. This season particularly boring but it's the culmination of a league that hasn't been properly competitive at the top for a decade. They will still be raking it in ofc but maybe not as much as they could be.

Financial shackles should be removed and clubs like us should be allowed to spend as we like, for the good of the league.

There does seem to be a bit of a lull at the moment. Not just because the RS have won it.

I cant remember any memorable games that have been played (not saying that havent been any)

Even in terms of the players, theres no real superstars that make you get out of your seat, and I cant think of many who may come to the forefront.

Although you could probably apply these points to footy in general.

I wouldn't have minded boring from an Everton perspective in the last three years. Whatever else it was, it wasn't boring.

I actually take little to no interest in the league as a whole, so I can't say I find that boring or otherwise.

I'd like to take more of an interest in the top end if we were competing at those levels.

Some great football on offer however no competition at all. Closed top shop, one little surprise team a year, same mid table clubs and bottom three almost a forgone conclusion. Would t dream of watching a non Everton game full stop. 20 years ago I’d watch anything. Must admit I like to watch a bit of say, German, Spanish or Italian footy with players I don’t know much about.

I think they need to become a bit more innovative to improve things. Maybe encourage teams to attack more by having more points on offer for goals scored or something. I know there will be difficulties with such a thing but something should change. It's all a bit pedestrian at times

For me it is, too much money in the game now, a lot of people and clubs content to take the wages and just exist.

Seeing the likes of Aston Villa and Forest at least putting the effort into competing is a good thing but it’s not enough.

You only have to look at the media too, very stale, same clubs given the most attention and excuses in incidents, supposed journalists picky about who or what they be objective about.

From an Everton perspective i think we have been boring and predictable over the years, just existing or being at the wrong side of the headlines. Probably why there was conceited efforts to shut down criticism, don’t upset/disrupt things so they can all continue to earn a living or get the access and the club itself regressed massively as a result.
