Which sports where skill is a far more influential factor than brute physicality do you think can be competitive between men and women, say in an example where they play each other?

Things like Curling at the Winter Olympics. Modern F1. Dannicka Patrick is successful in the Indy series. Like you said Snooker, and Darts and games of that ilk.

Poker is honestly a game where women can do as well as men (Victoria Coren is the first player of either gender to win two european tournaments, I believe, so she's obviously better thna a lot of her peers).

But a lot of the non physical sports, chess, snooker, darts, racing etc are dominated by men just because more men play them.

There has never been a female chess player who was one of the 10 best in the world, for instance.

This is a very important factor.

Judit Polgar?

Fair point. I knew she was good, didn't realise she'd made 8th in the world.

My Dad is quite decent at chess (top 50 in the uk decent, his claim to fame is he beat Nigel Short once) and he's lost to women as well as men, but when so many more men play it, you're going to have the top 5 be all men just through numbers.
