He was a very good player. Was great on the ball. He was one of the best dribblers in the world and was a good passer. When in form, he was fantastic and the combination of dribbling and passing with James was fun to watch.

His one flaw that he held on to the ball too long instead of releasing the pass. James in comparison is a much more direct player and had a bigger impact on goal.

But Isco has regressed over the past 2 years. He was always a key player for Zidane and received a lot of minutes but has been poor. He doesn't look fit and just doesn't do much right on the field.

I would take him over Gomes in a heartbeat, especially since Carlo can perhaps get the best out of him and get his act together.

But people judging this move on reputation are in for a rude awaking because he hasn't been good for a while and that was despite being a favorite of Zidane.

Obviously we don't have Modric or Kroos and Isco is really not good right now

But if Carlo could get Isco to regain his form and fitness....man that would be nice. Isco could do a lot better vs pressing teams due to his ability to hold the ball.

I just don't know if we could really rescue him. He has been that bad.
