I think you have to look at Dunc in the context of the time he played, the team he played with, and the [Poor language removed] we were in.
Winning the cup in 95 was a great acheivement for that team and big joe, for many of my generation he was a ray of hope emboding everything we wanted an everton hero to be, passion, tenacity and a genuine love of the club on his day he was unplayable and purte quality.
What you would say baout Dunc is that even if his body wasnt always up to the task his heart was. I am always surprised the club dont have him in any capacity at the club still considering his continuing popularity.
He never buckled or balked against any opposition and he knew what it meant to play for Everton. The right player in the wrong times for us. I think he deserves to be a legend for what he gave a gereation of fans starved of a hero.
