There can be no doubt that the legacy of the original is weighing heavily on the remake. If it had been an original film, I doubt anyone would've batted an eyelid.

Just watch the film and then pass judgement on whether it's a good film or not is what you should do.

The whole film making process is such an epic undertaking, it is really taken for granted by the mainstream with saturation of the medium.

Autonomy is only reserved for those right at the peak of their powers with history and savyness and those distributing their own material. Understanding this makes it easier to comprehend why the studio will retain the rights to the millions of dollars they've borrowed to finance tentpole productions and why they believe they have a better perspective of the final cut.

not the worst 1 or 2 hrs of mindless escapism you might watch this year...get over it, it's a Ghostbusters re-boot for 2016, no it isn't the original and it isn't aiming to out do Citizen Kane.

Really.. it's bad enough our Prime Minister fantasises about Peppa sodding Pig, without Bad Hipster Quegs bemoaning the fact they can't make 'crossing the streams' jokes anymore when they all disappear off to the bogs together.

Nobody (yes really nobody) actually give a toss about Ghostbusters or the rest of the 'franchises' that the Studios dredge up
