2024/25 Jake O'Brien

Yes, but you're normal mate.

That's why we have the ECB (Everton Celebration Police): to highlight to us mere mortals that the requisite amount of energy levels and busting of entertaining moves are reached.

O'Brien must do better in this aspect of his game in future.
At the time, I thought the celebration, or lack of, by Jake O'Brien was simply a case of him having a "Let's get on with the game and try and win it" type of attitude. I could be wrong though, I often am.

Don't know why people are looking so much into the celebration or lack thereof... I thought it was because he knew he was having a poor night and the club/fans deserved more from him, despite scoring the equalizer. He shouldn't be so hard on himself, but that just show what kind of player he is and the mentality he brings to the club. He wants to win and only wants the best.

He had rings run round him last night, didn’t react for their goal and gave them their best other chance by not sorting his feet out for a clearance. I suppose if you understand football to the same extent as Garth crooks he probably was man of the match, but for anyone else he clearly didn’t have a great game. It’s no big deal like, I’m not slating him just passing comment.
I thought he had a poor game last night and his goal, a very good header, helped to redeem his performance and get him the MOTM on here, it was the goal that impressed fans but he still had a poor game as far as I could see.

Its amazing how many people get MOTM in football in general just by scoring a goal.

Its usually Alan Smiths go to opinion that whoever gets the winner , even if it bounces off the bum and they have just come on, gets MOTM

Bruno Fernandes at the weekend for example, absolutely awful

Yes it happens quite a lot, and often the scorer hasn’t had a great game but if it’s the winner, especially, they’ll get MOTM and I don’t begrudge them that but it is patently obvious they were not MOTM .

I think O'Brien would be the first to admit he had a poor game, hence the lack of celebration. He's young and still has a lot of room for improvement. Unfortunately, he is going to have more games like last night, but the upside is he will only get better in the long run.

Everyone did. That is what makes it more impressive that we came away undefeated but disappointed we never won. We looked very tired and leggy

That Schade was skinning people early doors and Moyes switched full backs, that didn't help so he switched it back.
He does well at right back considering he's a giant CB.
He's scored and we got a point and go another undefeated with him in the side.
Bit more luck and he's scoring the winner and not the equalizer.
Can't see what Dyche thought wasn't ready. Especially when he played Keane for too many games earlier in the season
Good player, Schade. The sort of profile we should be looking at (not now he's at Brentford but when they signed him from Freiburg). £22m not exactly cheap, but he looks good value at that price.

I was surprised he got MOTM on here by such an overwhelming margin. Good goal, and I'm made up for the lad with his first goal, but I think it's maybe his worst overall performance for us. Much improved in the second half, to be fair.
