Beatts will score goals.
Etherington and Delap will supply a lot of the ammunition - similar to his Southampton days.

Good signing for them, and if they can defend as well as they did vs the [Poor language removed] last weekend, they have as good a chance as the other drop contenders for staying up.

£6million striker reveals Everton disappointment - Fansfc

James Beattie has told of his disappointment with Everton Football Club boss David Moyes.

The 30-year-old joined the Toffees for £6million in January 2005, but he managed just 13 goals in 76 Premier League games before being sold to Championship side Sheffield United in 2007.

"I enjoyed my time there, apart from the last 12 months when the manager (David Moyes) didn't see me in his plans and didn't really treat me that well off the pitch," said Beattie.

"It left a bit of a sour taste and it was a really big decision to drop down a division to join Sheffield United. But a lot of people have congratulated me in resurrecting my career, as it were.”

Beattie is now back in the Premier League with Stoke City after joining the Potters in a £3.5million deal this week, and he will be aiming to prove Moyes wrong.

No need for him to open his trap, he was [Poor language removed], Moyes saw he was [Poor language removed], we saw he was [Poor language removed]. Youve got nothing to prove.

He's entitled to his opinion, he's bashed Moyes, no one else. Not Everton football club. He obviously felt hard done by, we don't know the full details.

We'll find out when he brings his autobiography.

Beatties only talking the truth. It was quite obvious what was going on behind the scenes. Moyes never plays the players he likes. Its the same story with Van Der Meyde now, probably the same as johnson last year - he came out against Moyes saying he didnt play to his strengths.

Well that and the fact he was being out performed by Johnson and two 18 year olds at the time.

We should have kept Beattie and not have signed the Yak, Moyes out!

Aye!
I remember that clearly. AJ & Beattie both playing crap and seemingly unmotivated so Moyes threw on two 18 year olds who did really well - a great leap in their career and the start of the demise of Beattie as well as AJ.

I can't agree with that.

Moyes didn't think Beattie was the best option so he didn't play him, it's as simple as that really. Anichebe, Johnson and James Vaughan where far better options at the time. Even Faddy was.

Same happened to AJ the next year. Cahill and Yakubu where better options, better players who worked better in a partnership.

We have developed over the past few seasons, as a team we simply moved on from the likes of Beattie and AJ. Two limited strikers who it was actually hard to create for, they didn't have many strengths.

I can't believe some people are having a go at the way Moyes treated Beattie.

If you have opinions and want Moyes to listen to them, then dont complain when he does.

80% (or thereabouts) of everton fans were screaming at Beattie, saying he was fat and [Poor language removed] etc. That he was a liability and a waste of money.

Moyes dropped him.

Now for some reason, Moyes handled the situation badly?

I dont think so. Beattie had his chance at a big club and he blew it.
