Baffling performance considering he hasn’t had 43 behind closed doors friendlies, 3 weeks at a German rehab centre and 20 minutes for the U21s before even being allowed to train with the 1st team.

Who knew the only real categories of availability are “injured” and “not injured.”

It gets said a lot but there’s precious little evidence of it. He seems like a competent passer of the ball but I’m not sure I’ve seen anything to suggest he’s much more than that. From what I’ve seen of him he just seems like a decent all round player, he can pass and put a foot in etc but I honestly think the best games I’ve seen him have are at right back.

Hopefully you are right. He can pick a pass and both him and Iroegbunum will thrive under a footballing manager.

Again, Moyes made his own independent assessment of each player and designed a match plan to fit. And this is the Jimmy Garner that was always there. Cripe, even Myko’s crosses and match play is miles better since Moyes took over. I’m also sure Bainesy has been working with him behind the scenes as well. Certainly explains Myko pushing forward so much, heads up, looking for links.

People sleep on Garner. The stats really don't tell the story with him. He is one of those players that is more influential than you realize. I do believe he is just a good player. I think he is clearly a step above Mangala who to be fair has been solid this season.

Garner is a very good all rounder.

Mangala is good at short passes.

Huge gulf in class.

You can see the change in mobility, especially in transition when we win the ball back. Hats off the Thelwell on this deal
