James McCarthy, welcome back. You have been sorely missed. I have every faith in us taking something from the game on Saturday with him back in the team.

Last time we put a team out against these with half fit players we got bummed 4-0, there's very little point risking losing him for the rest of the season and handicapping ourselves deliberately for such a big game.

Hopefully Martinez has learnt from past mistakes on this..
Yes your right mate , not thinking straight head full of pent up aggression ready for Saturday. .fxxx me i hate em.

Let's see. We replace our club doctor of 10 years and suddenly McCarthy can't walk without doing his hammy.

Yeah, I'm sure they're real capable.

Right... So Sturridge has had a hamstring injury keeping him out even longer, and Newcastle's Rolando Aarons has been the same.

Are you really suggesting that the physios are completely incompetent at three of the biggest clubs in the world's biggest league of the world's biggest sport? Or maybe they're just injured and physios can't work miracles.

McCarthy against them lot, just coming back from an injury is a penalty waiting to happen.

We have seen it before and if he is not sharp enough then a game against a team of players who go down if the wind touches them is a situation we don't need to put ourselves in.

And Barry isnt?

Homer: Not a bear in sight. The Bear Patrol must be working like a charm.
Lisa: That’s specious reasoning, Dad.
Homer: Thank you, dear.
Lisa: By your logic I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away.
Homer: Oh, how does it work?
Lisa: It doesn’t work.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Lisa: It’s just a stupid rock.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Lisa: But I don’t see any tigers around, do you?
[Homer thinks of this, then pulls out some money]
Homer: Lisa, I want to buy your rock.
[Lisa refuses at first, then takes the exchange]

Uncanny. They stole my joke.

Barry will get raped by their pace in attacking midfield and will no doubt get booked early doors after a mistimed lunge.

He shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI on Saturday if McCarthy is fit enough to start. If he drops Besic for McCarthy then someone needs to stamp on his brown shoes ffs.

Can't say much about the others, but this is certainly damning as far as we're concerned

The key with Barry is to have him starting attacks and being the player who, when the 2 centre halves split, picks the ball up from the goalkeeper and calmly distributes.

Having McCarthy ahead of him who's far quicker than Besic, means that Barry isn't exposed for his lack of mobility.

Besic out for McCarthy imo
