i think he played quite well today.
i've got to be honest, when he was at wigan i never really noticed him. i knew his name and that was about it (i think i only knew his name because they had a james mcarthur as well). then again, how can you notice a man who does what he does playing for wigan?
i had my concerns because of this and concerns of whether martinez was looking at the right calibre of player when he first came here. very good signing though.

McCarthy was very good today and I don't think it's a coincidence that as he's playing a slightly more advanced position that Gareth Barry has been noticeably better of late too.
A fine team effort today, defence solid, midfield combative and I thought Rom led his one-man frontal assault manfully.

the only complaint about him was for him to become a more complete midfielder, he appears to be doing that, driving forward, growing in confidence with his passing, and interchanging when barkley drops deep for the ball, great to see
