it’s just such a low down and crass term. Failing to see that even when pointed out - come on.

Suppose you wouldn't mind casual racism either then if you're ok about abusing those with disabilities
What??? I spend my life 24hrs a day like many others looking after my disabled children yet to find anything funny about their conditions. Enlighten me then idiot what's the funny bit I'm missing???????????????????? +??????????

That word doesn't and hasn't ment what you people think it means for a very long time. So I think everyone's reaction to it is a bit over the top tbh.

For it to be used in a offensive term towards people with disabilities it would have to he used in a sentence along the lines of "he was also an adolescent with retarded social development, a Peter Pan who never grew up"

what the op posted was in reference to the informal of foolish or stupid reference of the word. While this is still a offensive word and obviously against the fourm rules it should not be for the wrong reason the posters quoted are claiming it is offensive for.

I just don't want to see other forum members being crucified for a misconception or fourm members getting upset over misinterpretation. Hope this helps.

Anyway I can't wait for James to sign. I think he'll be a real linchpin of the way we play and I really hope he gets the number 10 shirt.

Words change meaning often enough. It’s an unpleasant word and no reason anyone on here absolute be using it, no matter how offensive or inoffensive one takes it.

Just call someone a clown, lot less serious yet still getting your point across.

“The Premier League is the most-important league for us in Colombia. We watch a lot of matches and most Colombians consider it to be the most-competitive league in the world.

“There is going to be a very big spotlight on Everton and I’d imagine that all their matches would be broadcast in Colombia.

“We see Everton as a sleeping giant and bringing in a player like James could be a big opportunity for them to regain their status among English football’s elite.

“We hope that James can bring a lot of joy and trophies to Everton in the near future.”

I'd give him 8.

Not because he doesn't deserve 10. I just feel our no.8 shirt is a more 'special' shirt in our history than the 10.

Plus, I'd rather Delph get punted than Gylfi (I know, it's not a good choice).

You need to learn when to use ‘a’ and ‘an’ before trying to educate others my friend.
Anyway....

Hameth the hour... Hameth the man.

But anyway what i really wanted to say is, why are we spending more time on a player thread...( who doesn't actually play for us btw ) than the minutes he might actually spend on the pitch?

I heard there was a backlash from clowns about this. Better use a word that is an inanimate object like tool or wool, that way no one will actually complain.

(I’m only half joking)
