For it to be used in a offensive term towards people with disabilities it would have to he used in a sentence along the lines of "he was also an adolescent with retarded social development, a Peter Pan who never grew up"

what the op posted was in reference to the informal of foolish or stupid reference of the word. While this is still a offensive word and obviously against the fourm rules it should not be for the wrong reason the posters quoted are claiming it is offensive for.

I just don't want to see other forum members being crucified for a misconception or fourm members getting upset over misinterpretation. Hope this helps.

It is an unacceptable word on this forum regardless of what you think. A mod made that clear.

And in case it wasn’t ...using that word will get a warning and possibly a ban.

Ok, I don’t use that word at all being a mental health therapist.

However it is a bit silly to be going off the deep end about this word when a night or two ago there was an entire thread talking about waxing knobs and gifs of keyboard rangers touching themselves. What’s tolerated on here as humor is subjective by mods.

Overall, I like it here and it is what it is.

If a mod says to knock it off, then just knock it off.

If you don’t like the result leave.

I’m all in for a laugh and can take a joke.

Let’s move on. If you want to change someone’s perspective on PC verbiage use the pm function.
