Oh no, he's coming for Ancelotti and not Everton?... That would be bad except... well... we have Ancelotti so it's all good.
I don't care what reason a world class player joins us, it could be the consistency of our pothole fillings for all it matters.
The fact it's our manager is a bonus and demo's again what a great signing Carlo was.
Thanks Valdano, even happier after reading that, and putting the boot into the RS just add's the topping to another feel good story about this lad.

How else did Chelsea and City do it? They hired top managers to attract good players. Once the club starts achieving things then it becomes self sustaining.

Exactly right mate. The more I hear about players coming for the manager instead of the club, the better the club looks for getting the manager. And like you say, the more we get the players, and the more we start winning, the less irriplaceble the manager becomes, until players want to come to Everton regardless of the manager.

I feel like the media are really pushing the fact that James is only here because Ancelotti is in an effort to belittle us as usual.

Like we don't already know.

And like we're arsed.
He simply wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Ancelotti, I am not sure if we have ever in our history had a manager that would attempt and carry off a transfer like this... in terms of global exposure.
I don't think the Cat or Howard Kendall would have done so... but it was a very different game and different times back then.

Soon the talking stops and the football starts , if we can match results to our ambition then with the new stadium in the offing I think we may be facing into a new era.
